Once a firm has prepared for investment and attracted investors, it will move from the Letter of Intent (LoI) into due diligence. As the title of this session suggests, this can be challenging for founders of firms of all sizes as they scramble to gather the required information and present their business.
But it doesn’t need to be this way.
Taking lessons from a decade in due diligence, this workshop will help you:

- Uncover common mistakes that can easily be rectified before you go into negotiations.
- Ensure your technology and cybersecurity are polished for the presentation.

While it’s inevitable that issues are uncovered during due diligence, ensuring your firm is free of common mistakes will prevent the erosion of investor confidence.

About Your Speaker
Hutton Henry, Managing Partner: Beyond M&A
Hutton started his career at Ford and was first exposed to M&A-related technology projects during the acquisition of Jaguar. Following this, he spent over 25 years on post-merger integration projects with firms like HP (acquiring Compaq) and the Norton Rose / Fullbright merger. Since 2015, he has applied these skills to lower and mid-market firms.
Today, he runs a boutique Technology Due Diligence business, serving VC/PE investors by translating technology to help them understand the risks and upsides of new investments.
A techie turned founder, Hutton is interested in the psychology of startup teams. He is a qualified Kolbe Consultant and has worked with over 500 people to help them up their game. He is also the author of “People First,” a book focusing on merging tech teams after M&A.
